Acropora stoddarti is a reef-building stony coral in the family Acroporidae, characterized by branching colonies that form complex three-dimensional structures on the reef substrate. Like other Acropora species, it grows relatively quickly and provides critical habitat structure for fish and invertebrates, contributing to reef accretion and the overall architectural complexity that supports reef biodiversity. As a colonial cnidarian, it relies on symbiotic algae (zooxanthellae) for much of its energy needs, making it sensitive to changes in water temperature and quality.
