Acropora nasuta is a stony coral belonging to the family Acroporidae, notable for its branching growth form and small tubular corallites arranged along its arms. Like other Acropora species, it is a colonial organism whose polyps host symbiotic zooxanthellae, which supply the coral with energy through photosynthesis and give it its coloration. As a reef-building species, it contributes calcium carbonate structure to reef systems, creating habitat complexity that supports fish and invertebrate communities.
