Habitat
Pancheria robusta is endemic to New Caledonia's ultramafic maquis shrublands, growing exclusively on serpentine soils derived from peridotite bedrock. This specialized plant community occurs at elevations between 200-800 meters in areas with high concentrations of heavy metals that exclude most other vegetation.
