Overview
A detailed profile for this species is sourced from the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species as assessments become available.
The Ochraceous Attila faces severe pressure from rapid deforestation across its restricted range in the Atlantic Forest of southeastern Brazil. Agricultural expansion, particularly cattle ranching and sugarcane cultivation, has eliminated vast areas of suitable habitat. Urban development and infrastructure projects continue to fragment remaining forest patches, isolating populations and reducing breeding success.
Habitat
This species inhabits humid lowland Atlantic Forest and adjacent secondary forests in southeastern Brazil, particularly favoring dense canopy areas with abundant epiphytes. It occurs primarily in well-preserved forest fragments below 800 meters elevation, requiring continuous forest cover for successful breeding.
