Overview

Engaewa pseudoreducta is a small freshwater crayfish in the family Parastacidae, distinguished from related species by subtle differences in claw and body structure that separate it from other members of the genus Engaewa. Like other burrowing crayfish, it constructs and inhabits burrows dug into saturated soils, often extending down to the water table, and it likely plays a role in aerating soil and cycling nutrients within its wetland habitat.
