Habitat
This species is endemic to the Atlantic Forest (Mata Atlântica) of southeastern Brazil, occurring in humid lowland and montane forests. It typically grows in primary and well-preserved secondary forest formations at elevations ranging from sea level to approximately 1,000 meters.
