Overview
A detailed profile for this species is sourced from the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species as assessments become available.
The White-streaked Antvireo faces severe pressure from rapid deforestation across its restricted range in the Atlantic Forest of southeastern Brazil. Mining activities and urban expansion have fragmented its habitat into isolated patches, while agricultural conversion continues to reduce available forest cover. The species' dependence on dense understory vegetation makes it particularly vulnerable to edge effects and habitat degradation.
Habitat
This antvireo inhabits the dense understory and mid-story of humid Atlantic Forest, preferring areas with thick vegetation and bamboo thickets. It occurs primarily in montane and submontane forests between 400-1,200 meters elevation in southeastern Brazil.
