Overview
A detailed profile for this species is sourced from the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species as assessments become available.
Prigogine's Greenbul faces severe pressure from ongoing deforestation and habitat fragmentation across its limited range in the Albertine Rift montane forests. Agricultural expansion, particularly for subsistence farming and commercial plantations, continues to reduce and isolate remaining forest patches. The species' restricted altitudinal range makes it particularly vulnerable to climate change impacts, as warming temperatures may force populations upslope into increasingly limited suitable habitat.
Habitat
This species inhabits montane forests of the Albertine Rift, typically found in primary and mature secondary forest between 1,500-2,400 meters elevation. It prefers dense canopy areas with rich understory vegetation in the mountains of eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, and western Uganda.
