Habitat
This species is endemic to the Atlantic Forest (Mata Atlântica) of southeastern Brazil, occurring in humid lowland and montane forest environments. It typically grows in well-drained soils within primary and secondary forest formations at elevations ranging from sea level to approximately 800 meters.
